Andrew Jackson Invests in the Community
Andrew Jackson Speaks at Civil Rights Symposium
Jackson at the second annual Civil Rights Symposium emphasized the necessity for minority businesses to not solely rely on MBE/FBE/DBE Certifications as a business incubator.
Jackson expressed his basic philosophy, “You have to be qualified and able to produce your products or deliver your services with the highest degree of quality, customer service, and professionalism as your competitor.” Jackson stressed the need to be a “GBE” (Good Business Enterprise). To Jackson, “Inclusion means that I can make money!”
Jackson, CEO at Elsons International and CFO/COO at MAC Installations & Consulting LLC was a panelist with William Brian Burgett, President & CEO, Kokosing Construction. Moderated by Attorney Larry James, Partner, Crabbe Brown & James LLP, Jackson and Burgett discussed “Ways to Create Successful Partnerships.”
“Owner’s Will is key to the success for diversity and inclusion. The directives flow top down,” Jackson added. A fan favorite, Jackson was a panelist at the inaugural 2017 Civil Rights Symposium last year which featured as the keynote speaker, Martin Luther King III.
Andrew Jackson is cooking in the kitchen!
Alright, Jackson is not exactly cooking in the kitchen, but he is sharing his ingredients for successful business operations to help aspiring entrepreneurs take the next step.
Following in the footsteps of CNBC/ LeBron James “Cleveland Hustle” which first aired in 2016, the “Cleveland Chain Reaction” Project is being produced to create jobs, investments, and wealth in Cleveland’s neighborhoods while providing opportunities for ambitious entrepreneurs to benefit from the financial resources and tutelage of seasoned business owners.
The “Cleveland Chain Reaction” project aired and hosted by FOX 8 News in the Morning Reporter, Kenny Crumpton involved the partnership of the Cleveland Neighborhood Progress (CNP), the Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE) and GlazenUrban.
Andrew Jackson saw this program as one where he could continue his community involvement by influencing the outcomes of aspiring entrepreneurs. One of the businesses that he and his partner Fred Geis selected was Claude Booker’s Sides To Go, a restaurant with southern flair that features tasty barbeque and a long list of accompanying flavorful side dishes. As Sides To Go menu expands, so will its locations as the team expects to open other restaurants statewide.
Andrew Jackson Goes Back to School
Known as the consummate entrepreneur, Andrew Jackson was recently a “Teacher for the day” at Heskett Middle School in Bedford, Ohio. Speaking to a group of about 50 students, Mr. Jackson provided them with valuable and inspiring lessons that will help them in life.
“Too whom much is given, much is required,” is one of Jackson’s favorite quotes. Certainly, he gives back! His participation in The Mentoring Network program is just another example.
Andrew Jackson is the Owner of Elsons International, and the featured speaker of a statewide conference in Columbus Ohio: The Municipalities Business Conference and Expo. Andrew prides himself on the success he and his company have throughout the state of Ohio, both economic and social. Elsons International features a 2nd chance program for ex-inmates, which also includes working with the state penitentiaries to train current inmates, training them in the penitentiary, ultimately giving inmates an opportunity for a job when their sentence ends.
